Car
If you are travelling by car, start from the center of Gandhara and head towards the Kohlu district. Take the N-50 highway south for approximately 150 kilometers, passing through major towns like Dera Ismail Khan. Continue on the N-50 until you reach the junction for the Rakhni road. Take this road east towards Mawand. Koh E Dhid is located approximately 20 kilometers from Mawand, and you may need to navigate some smaller roads. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain as the last stretch may involve unpaved paths.
Public Transportation
To travel by public transportation, first take a bus or van from Gandhara to Quetta. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station in Gandhara. The fare is approximately 500 PKR per person. From Quetta, board a local bus heading towards the Kohlu district. Once in Kohlu, you can hire a taxi to take you to Mawand, which should cost around 300 PKR. Upon arriving in Mawand, you will need to arrange for a local guide or taxi service to reach Koh E Dhid, as it is about 20 kilometers away from the town.
Local Guide
Once you reach Mawand, it is highly recommended to hire a local guide who is familiar with the area. They can provide insights into the best routes and ensure your safety while visiting Koh E Dhid. The cost for a local guide may vary, but it typically ranges from 2000 to 3000 PKR for a day, depending on the services provided.
