Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Mingora, the largest city in the Swat Valley. Head east on the Saidu Sharif-Mingora Road (N-95) for about 15 km until you reach the Vayna Road junction. Turn left onto Vayna Road and continue for approximately 5 km until you reach the Shingardar Village. The Shingardar Stupa will be on your right, identifiable by its large stone structure. Ensure to have a GPS or map app handy to navigate accurately.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, catch a local bus or van from Mingora to Shingardar Village. Look for buses heading towards Kalam or Swat. The fare is usually around 100-200 PKR. Inform the driver or conductor that you want to get off at Shingardar Village. Once you arrive in Shingardar, the stupa is a short walk from the bus stop. Follow the main road towards Vayna Road, and you will see the stupa ahead.
Walking
If you're already in Shingardar Village, you can walk to the Shingardar Stupa. From the village center, head southeast on Vayna Road for about 1 km. The stupa is located just off the main road and is easily visible. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, especially in warmer weather.
