Public Bus
From Gilgit city, head to the main bus stand located near the center of the city. Look for a bus heading towards Hunza or Gojal Valley. The buses usually leave every hour. When you board, inform the driver that you want to go to Attabad Lake. The bus ride takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages. The bus will drop you off at a point near the lake.

Shared Taxi
At the Gilgit bus stand, you can also find shared taxis (often called 'sazgar') heading towards Hunza. These taxis are slightly more expensive than buses but are faster and more comfortable.
