From your accommodation in Gilgit, head towards the main bazaar area. Make your way to the Gilgit Bus Station (also known as the Gilgit Terminal), which is situated near the center of the city. Look for the buses heading to Hunza. Once you arrive at the bus station, ask for the bus to Karimabad, as that is the nearest town to Baltit Fort. The buses usually depart regularly throughout the day. The journey to Karimabad will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions.
