Start at the main bazaar in Gilgit. From the bazaar, head towards the Gilgit River and follow the riverbank. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue along the N-35 road towards Hunza. Keep an eye out for local signposts that indicate the direction to Gojal. After approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of walking along the road, you will arrive at the junction that leads to Ondra Fort. Follow the path on your right, which will lead you to the fort.

From the Gilgit main bazaar, look for a local bus or shared van heading towards Hunza. Buses frequently leave from the main bus stand. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Gojal, which is a common destination. The ride will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Gojal, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Ondra Fort. From there, you may need to walk for about 20-30 minutes along the path leading to the fort.
