Walking
Start at the main bazaar in Gilgit. From the bazaar, head towards the Gilgit River and follow the riverbank. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue along the N-35 road towards Hunza. Keep an eye out for local signposts that indicate the direction to Gojal. After approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of walking along the road, you will arrive at the junction that leads to Ondra Fort. Follow the path on your right, which will lead you to the fort.

Local Transport (Bus or Shared Van)
From the Gilgit main bazaar, look for a local bus or shared van heading towards Hunza. Buses frequently leave from the main bus stand. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Gojal, which is a common destination. The ride will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Gojal, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Ondra Fort. From there, you may need to walk for about 20-30 minutes along the path leading to the fort.

Hiking
If you are an experienced hiker, you can take a more scenic route. Start from the Gilgit main bazaar and head towards the surrounding mountains. Follow the trails that lead towards Hunza, making sure to keep the river on your left. This hiking route is more challenging and can take roughly 4-5 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, and keep a map or GPS handy to avoid getting lost. Eventually, you will connect with the main road leading to Ondra Fort.
