Trekking
From Gilgit, start your journey by walking to the Gilgit Bus Station. You can ask locals for directions if you're unsure. Once at the bus station, look for a bus heading to Karimabad, which is the main town in Hunza. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Upon reaching Karimabad, disembark at the main bus stop. From here, you'll need to find a local jeep or a shared taxi heading towards Nagar Valley. This is a short ride of about 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the base camp for Rush Lake trek. This location is usually known as 'Nagar Valley Base Camp'. After reaching the base camp, you will begin your trek to Rush Lake. The trek is approximately 6-8 hours depending on your pace and requires basic trekking gear. Follow the marked trails and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Once you arrive at the base camp for Rush Lake, begin your hike towards Rush Lake. The trail is well-marked and you will have stunning views of the surrounding peaks including Rush Pari Peak. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks for the trek, as there are no shops along the way. The hike is moderately challenging, so take your time and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Upon reaching Rush Lake, you can relax and take in the beauty of this serene location. Be mindful of your time as you will need to hike back to the base camp before dark.
