If you are driving from any location in Hazara, start by taking the main N-35 (also known as the Pakistan-China Road) towards Swabi. Depending on your starting point, the journey may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. As you approach Swabi, look for signs indicating Tarbela Dam. Turn onto the road leading to the dam, which is well-marked. The dam is located about 15 kilometers from Swabi town center. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited fuel stations on the way.

From any major city in Hazara, you can take a bus or a coach to Swabi. Buses frequently depart from bus terminals, and the journey usually takes around 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Swabi, hire a local taxi or rickshaw to take you to Tarbela Dam, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey, which should typically be around 300-500 PKR for the taxi ride.
