Car Rental
From K2 Base Camp, you will need to travel to Skardu first. Rent a car from a local rental service in K2 Base Camp or arrange for a driver. The journey from K2 Base Camp to Skardu takes approximately 4-6 hours. Follow the road signs towards Skardu, which will take you through beautiful mountain scenery. Make sure to carry enough fuel as petrol stations are sparse.
Public Transportation
Take a local bus or jeep from K2 Base Camp to Skardu. Buses may leave early in the morning, so check the schedule ahead of time. The trip takes about 4-6 hours. Once in Skardu, you can find shared jeeps that head towards Nanga Parbat Base Camp. The fare is typically around 1000 PKR per person.
Jeep Ride
From Skardu, take a jeep towards Nanga Parbat Base Camp. The ride is rough and takes about 6-8 hours, depending on road conditions. Ensure to negotiate the fare with the driver in advance, typically around 6000-8000 PKR for the jeep. The jeep will drop you off at the nearest point to the base camp, from where you will need to hike.
Hiking
From the jeep drop-off point, follow the Nanga Parbat Base Camp Trail. The trek to the base camp takes approximately 3-4 hours, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have a map or a local guide, as the trail can be challenging. It’s essential to carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
