If you are traveling by car, start from the Khunjerab Pass area. Drive towards Ghulkin, following the main road that leads through the Hunza Valley. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. As you approach Ghulkin, look for signs directing you to Borith Lake. You will need to turn off the main road and follow a smaller road leading towards the lake. Make sure to have a reliable map or GPS as the roads can be tricky. Parking is available near the lake.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus or shared jeep from Karimabad to Ghulkin. The ride will take about an hour. Once you reach Ghulkin, you can hire a local jeep or arrange for a taxi to take you the remaining distance to Borith Lake. This last leg of the journey is about 15-20 minutes. Be prepared for an additional cost for the jeep or taxi, which may vary, but expect to pay around 500-1000 PKR depending on negotiations.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and the weather is nice, you can also opt to hike to Borith Lake from Ghulkin. The hike is approximately 5 kilometers and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the path that leads from Ghulkin to Borith Lake, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water and snacks.
