Getting There

• Car

  From Khunjerab Pass, you can reach Khunjerab National Park by continuing along the main road. The park is located approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) south of the Khunjerab Pass border crossing. Follow the Khunjerab Road, which is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Keep an eye out for the park's entrance signs. Once you reach the entrance, you may need to pay a small entrance fee to access the national park. Make sure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited services in the area.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or minibus from the nearest town, Sost, which is about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from Khunjerab Pass. First, you need to travel to Sost by bus or taxi from Hunza Valley. Once in Sost, look for shared taxis heading towards Khunjerab Pass. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Khunjerab National Park. The fare may vary, so be sure to negotiate before starting your journey. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will be dropped off near the park entrance.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous traveler, hiking is an option to explore the natural beauty around Khunjerab Pass towards Khunjerab National Park. However, ensure you have proper hiking gear and a map. The hiking trail from Khunjerab Pass to the national park is approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) long and can be challenging due to altitude. It’s advisable to go with a guide if you are unfamiliar with the area. Be sure to bring enough water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. Once you reach the park, you can enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife.
