Getting There

The distance from Mingora to Kalam is approximately 99 km and takes about 2-3 hours. The road is scenic but can be winding, so drive carefully. There are several stops along the way for refreshments, including local eateries and shops. Make sure to have some cash handy for tolls or small purchases.

• Public Transportation (Minibus)

  For those preferring public transport, you can take a minibus or a 'coaster' from Mingora to Kalam. Buses leave from the main bus station in Mingora frequently throughout the day. The fare is usually around PKR 300-500 per person, depending on the season and demand. The journey takes about 3-4 hours, and the minibus will take you directly to Kalam. Make sure to confirm the destination before boarding to ensure you are on the right route.

  Alternatively, you can hire a private taxi from Mingora to Kalam. This option is more expensive, typically costing between PKR 3000-5000, but it offers more comfort and flexibility for your travel schedule. You can negotiate the fare beforehand. Taxis can be found at various locations in Mingora, including the airport and major hotels.

• Motorbike Rental

  For the more adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Mingora is also an option. Rental prices range from PKR 800-1500 per day. This allows you to explore the area at your own pace. However, ensure you have a valid driver’s license and are comfortable with riding in hilly terrain. Follow the main road to Kalam and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
