Car
If you are traveling by car within Swat Valley, start your journey from Mingora, the largest city in the area. Drive towards Saidu Sharif and continue on the main road towards Kalam. After passing through Saidu Sharif, follow the signs to Kalam, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. Once you reach Kalam, continue on the Kalam-Mahodand Road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the Mahodand Lake area. The Saifullah Lake is located near this area, specifically at the coordinates 35.7211° N, 72.6440° E. Ensure that your vehicle is suitable for mountainous terrain, as the roads can be narrow and winding. Parking is available near the lake.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Mingora. Look for buses heading to Kalam, which operate regularly throughout the day. The fare to Kalam is usually around PKR 200 to PKR 300 per person. Upon arrival in Kalam, you can hire a local jeep or taxi to reach Mahodand Lake, which will cost approximately PKR 1500 to PKR 2000, depending on your negotiation skills. The jeep ride takes about 30 minutes and offers stunning views along the way. Once you reach Mahodand Lake, follow the path to Saifullah Lake, which is nearby.
