Car
If you are driving from Chitré, head east on the Pan-American Highway (Carretera Panamericana) towards the town of La Villa de Los Santos. After approximately 20 km, take the exit towards La Villa de Los Santos and follow the signs to continue on the road leading to the town. Once in La Villa de Los Santos, take the road towards Santiago (Ruta 1) and continue until you reach the junction for the Bayano Lake area. Follow the signs for Bayano Lake, and you will reach the lake after approximately 30 km. Note that there may be some tolls along the route, typically around $1-$2.

To reach Bayano Lake using public transport, start in Chitré. Take a bus from the Chitré bus terminal to La Villa de Los Santos (buses run regularly, cost around $1.50). Upon arrival in La Villa, you will need to catch a bus towards Santiago. Inform the driver you want to get off at the turn-off for Bayano Lake. The journey may take an additional 30-40 minutes. From the drop-off point, you may need to walk or hire a local taxi (around $5) to take you the remaining distance to the lake. Ensure to check the schedule for returning buses, as they may not run frequently.
