Getting There

• Car

  From Pedasi, head northwest on Calle 4 Sur towards the Pan-American Highway (Carretera Interamericana). After about 3.5 kilometers, turn left onto the Pan-American Highway and continue for approximately 21 kilometers until you reach the town of Las Tablas. In Las Tablas, follow signs to Pedasi and take the road towards Playa Arenal. Once you arrive at Playa Arenal, you will find a boat launch area. Parking is available near the boat launch, but there may be a small fee (around $2-5) for parking.

• Public Transportation

  From Pedasi, you can take a taxi or a local bus to Las Tablas. The bus station is located at the corner of Calle 4 Sur and the main street. Buses to Las Tablas run frequently, costing around $1-2 per person. Once in Las Tablas, you’ll need to take a taxi to Playa Arenal (approximately 10-15 minutes ride, costing around $5-7). At Playa Arenal, you will find boat operators that can take you to Isla Iguana. The cost for the boat ride typically ranges from $15-25 per person, depending on the group size and negotiation.

• Boat

  Once you arrive at Playa Arenal, look for the boat operators who offer trips to Isla Iguana. Depending on the demand, boats can leave as soon as they fill up. The boat ride to Isla Iguana takes about 15-20 minutes. Ensure you confirm the return time with the boat operator, as the last boat back to Playa Arenal typically departs in the late afternoon.
