From the center of Buka, head east on the main road. Continue straight until you reach the Buka Passage. Upon reaching the passage, you will need to find a local boat that can take you across to the mainland. Once you arrive at the mainland, follow the path leading to the Goroka region. The JK McCarthy Museum is located in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province. As you get closer, look for local signs pointing towards the museum, or ask locals for directions. The museum is approximately a 15-minute walk from the nearest boat landing.
