Getting There

    Start your journey from the center of Madang town. Head east on Modilon Road until you reach the junction with Ramu Highway. This is approximately a 15-minute walk. At the junction, turn left onto Ramu Highway. Continue walking along Ramu Highway for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and small eateries along the way. As you approach the area, keep an eye out for signs indicating Balek Smell Water, which is situated on the right side of the highway. The entrance to the nature preserve is marked by a small path leading off the highway.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Madang. Start from the town center and take Modilon Road east until you reach Ramu Highway.
