Getting There

  • Bus

    From Hernandarias, head to the nearest bus station, which is located on Avenida Mariscal López. Look for buses heading to Foz do Iguaçu. The bus ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Foz do Iguaçu bus terminal, exit and look for a bus or taxi that can take you to the Itaipu Biological Refuge. The refuge is located at Av. Tancredo Neves, 6702 - 07 - Jardim Itaipu, about 10 minutes away from the bus terminal. If using a taxi, simply show the driver the address or mention 'Itaipu Biological Refuge'.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk from the Foz do Iguaçu bus terminal, exit the terminal and head southeast on Avenida Brasil toward Avenida Tancredo Neves. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers (approximately 20-25 minutes on foot). You will cross the intersection with Avenida Tancredo Neves. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Itaipu Biological Refuge.
