Walking
From the central area of Hernandarias, head south on Av. Carlos Antonio López. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Av. Defensores del Chaco. Turn left onto Av. Defensores del Chaco and walk straight until you reach the border with Brazil. After crossing the border, follow the signs for Foz do Iguaçu and head towards Av. Tancredo Neves. Continue on Av. Tancredo Neves for about 3 km, and you will find the Itaipu Biological Refuge on your left at Av. Tancredo Neves, 6702 - 07.

Public Transport (Bus)
From any point in Hernandarias, make your way to the closest bus stop on Av. Carlos Antonio López. Take a bus heading towards Ciudad del Este and get off at the border crossing. Once you cross the border into Brazil, catch a bus from the terminal that goes to Foz do Iguaçu. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop for Av. Tancredo Neves. Walk for about 5 minutes along Av. Tancredo Neves, and the Itaipu Biological Refuge will be on your left.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the main square in Hernandarias and head south on Av. Carlos Antonio López. Continue straight, following the route to the border. Once you cross into Brazil, you can take Av. Tancredo Neves directly towards the Itaipu Biological Refuge. It’s about a 30-minute ride, so enjoy the scenic views along the way.
