Travel Guide to Lugar Recreativo Ysyry

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Encarnación, which is one of the larger cities in Southern Paraguay. Head east on Avenida España towards Ruta 6. Continue on Ruta 6 for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the junction with Ruta 1. Take the exit onto Ruta 1 and follow it for about 15 kilometers. Look for the signs that indicate the turn-off to Lugar Recreativo Ysyry; it will be a small road leading off to the right. Follow this road for around 5 kilometers until you arrive at the recreational area.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Lugar Recreativo Ysyry by public transportation from Encarnación, take a bus from the Encarnación bus terminal to the nearest town, Hohenau. Buses run frequently and the fare is usually around 5,000 PYG. After arriving in Hohenau, you will need to hire a taxi or a moto-taxi to take you to Lugar Recreativo Ysyry, which is about 10 kilometers away. The taxi fare should be approximately 20,000 PYG.

• Combination (Car and Walking)

  For those who might be starting from smaller towns such as José Leandro Oviedo or Bella Vista, you can drive to the nearest major road, which is Ruta 6. From there, follow the directions for cars provided above. If you park your car at a nearby designated area and walk the last stretch, ensure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes as the final kilometers may involve some walking through natural paths leading to the recreational area.
