Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Areguá, which is approximately 30 kilometers from Asunción. Follow Route 1 (Ruta Transchaco) heading east until you reach Areguá. Once in Areguá, look for the signs directing you to Ruta Aregua. Continue on Ruta Aregua for about 5 kilometers. You will find Cerro Kõi on your left. Ensure that your vehicle is in good condition, as some roads may be unpaved.
Public Transportation
To reach Cerro Kõi using public transportation, take a bus from the Asunción bus terminal to Areguá. The trip takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive in Areguá, you can either take a taxi or a motorcycle taxi to Ruta Aregua. The taxi ride will cost approximately 10,000 to 20,000 PYG (Paraguayan Guarani) depending on your negotiation skills. The motorcycle taxi is often cheaper, around 5,000 to 10,000 PYG.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the center of Areguá to Cerro Kõi, it is a 5-kilometer trek. Start from the main plaza in Areguá, walk along Avenida Defensores del Chaco, then merge onto Ruta Aregua. The walk will take roughly 1 to 1.5 hours, and it's recommended to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the route can be quite sunny.
