Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Gardners, Pennsylvania. From Interstate 81, take exit 37 toward PA-233 S. Follow PA-233 S for approximately 6 miles until you reach Old Shippenburg Rd. Turn right onto Old Shippenburg Rd, and continue for about 1.5 miles. You will find the Sunset Rocks Trailhead on your left. There is no parking fee, but make sure to arrive early during peak seasons as the parking lot can fill up quickly.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, the closest bus station is in Carlisle, PA. From Carlisle, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the Sunset Rocks Trailhead. The distance from the bus station to the trailhead is approximately 20 miles. Expect a taxi fare of around $30-$40, so budget accordingly. Once you arrive at the trailhead on Old Shippenburg Rd, you’ll find the entrance to the hiking area easily accessible.
