Car
If you are traveling by car, you can start from Allentown, PA. Head west on I-78 W for about 20 miles. Take exit 40A to merge onto US-22 W toward Harrisburg. Continue on US-22 W for approximately 30 miles, then take the exit for PA-100 N toward Trexlertown. Merge onto PA-100 N and continue for about 10 miles. Then, turn left onto PA-29 N. Drive for around 10 miles until you reach Albany Township. Follow signs towards The Pinnacle, which is located at approximately 40.6135° N latitude and -75.9116° W longitude. There is a parking area available, but be aware that there may be a small parking fee (around $5) for access to the trailhead.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start your journey by taking a bus from Philadelphia to Reading, PA. This can be done via the Greyhound or Megabus services, which typically take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Reading, you can take a local bus (such as Berks Area Reading Transit Authority - BARTA) to get to the nearest town to Albany Township. From there, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach The Pinnacle trailhead. It's important to check the local bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary on weekends and holidays. Expect to pay approximately $20 for the bus ticket from Philadelphia to Reading and an additional $10-$15 for the taxi or rideshare service.

Several local trails converge to lead up to The Pinnacle, with the most popular starting point being the Pinnacle Trailhead located on the Appalachian Trail.
