Frankenfield Covered Bridge: A Timeless Icon of American Heritage

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on Route 29 heading north. Follow Route 29 until you reach the intersection with Route 32. Turn right onto Route 32 and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the small town of Erwinna. Look for Hollow Horn Road, which is just off Route 32. Turn onto Hollow Horn Road, and you will find the Frankenfield Covered Bridge shortly ahead on your right. There is no parking lot, but you can park along the road.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Doylestown to New Hope. From New Hope, you can catch a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the bridge. The taxi ride will take about 20 minutes, and the fare will typically be around $25. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they can take you directly to Hollow Horn Road in Erwinna.

• Walking

  If you are already in Erwinna, you can walk to the Frankenfield Covered Bridge from the center of the town. Head south on Route 32 for about 0.5 miles, then take a right onto Hollow Horn Road. The bridge is a short walk down this road, approximately 0.3 miles further. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as parts of the road may be uneven.

• Biking

  For avid cyclists, biking to the Frankenfield Covered Bridge can be a scenic option. Start from the Delaware Canal Towpath, which runs along the Delaware River. Head north on the Towpath until you reach the junction with Route 32. Turn left on Route 32 and bike for about 2 miles until you see Hollow Horn Road. Turn right onto Hollow Horn Road, and the bridge will be a short distance ahead. Be cautious of traffic on Route 32.
