Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown Hershey, start at the Hershey Chocolate World. Walk north on Hersheypark Drive for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 743. Turn left onto Route 743 and continue walking for another 0.7 miles. You will see a sign for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the trailhead.

  • Public Bus

    From the Hershey Transit Center located on Chocolate Avenue, take the Derry Township bus heading towards the Hersheypark. Get off at the stop after the Hersheypark entrance. From there, walk north on Hersheypark Drive for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Route 743 and walk 0.7 miles until you reach the Appalachian National Scenic Trail entrance.

    If you have access to a bike rental in Hershey, start from the Hershey Gardens. Head east on the bike path towards Hersheypark Drive. Once you reach Hersheypark Drive, turn left and bike north for about 0.5 miles. When you reach Route 743, turn left and continue biking for about 0.7 miles to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail entrance.
