Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Laurel Highlands, head north on Route 31 towards US-119 N. Merge onto US-119 N and continue for about 15 miles until you reach the interchange with I-70 W. Take I-70 W towards Pittsburgh. After approximately 35 miles, take exit 57A to merge onto I-376 N toward Pittsburgh. Continue for about 5 miles, then take exit 2C toward Grant St. Stay on Grant St and turn left onto Commonwealth Pl. The Fort Pitt Museum will be on your left at Point State Park, 601 Commonwealth Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Note that parking may have a fee, typically around $5-$10 depending on the lot.

    If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the Westmoreland County Transit Authority (WCTA) bus from Laurel Highlands to Pittsburgh. You can catch the WCTA bus at designated stops in the area. Once you arrive in Pittsburgh, transfer to the Port Authority bus (Route 28X or 61) that goes to Downtown Pittsburgh.
