Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto PA-31 E from your location in Laurel Highlands. Follow PA-31 E for approximately 12 miles until you reach the junction with PA-281 N. Merge onto PA-281 N and continue for about 5 miles. Look for signs directing you to Laurel Ridge State Park on your right. Once you turn onto the park road, follow it until you reach the main parking area. Be aware that there may be a small parking fee, so keep some cash handy.

• Public Transportation

  Using public transportation can be more challenging. First, check if local bus services operate near your location in Laurel Highlands. Take a bus to Somerset, PA, which is the nearest larger town. From Somerset, you will likely need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to reach Laurel Ridge State Park, which is about 15 miles away. Be prepared for potential costs associated with the taxi or rideshare service.

• Biking

  For those adventurous enough to bike, you can start on local trails that connect to the Great Allegheny Passage. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with PA-31 E. From there, you can ride along the road to reach Laurel Ridge State Park. Remember to wear a helmet and ensure your bike is in good condition for the journey.
