Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Allentown, PA. Head north on N 19th St toward W Hamilton St. Turn left onto W Hamilton St. Continue onto US-22 W. Merge onto I-476 N via the ramp to Scranton. Take exit 74 for PA-940 W toward West Hazleton. Continue on PA-940 W for approximately 9 miles. Turn left onto St Fish and Game Commission Rd. The dam will be on your right after a short drive.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Francis E. Walter Dam using public transportation, take a bus from the Allentown Transportation Center to the White Haven area. Check the schedules for the Short Line or Greyhound services, as they may offer routes to White Haven. Once you arrive in White Haven, you will need to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the dam on St Fish and Game Commission Rd, as public transport does not go directly there. Rideshare services may vary in cost depending on the distance.

• Biking/Walking

  For adventurous visitors already in White Haven, you can bike or walk to Francis E. Walter Dam if you're close enough. From the center of White Haven, head south on Main St, then take a right onto St Fish and Game Commission Rd. The dam is approximately 2 miles from the center of White Haven. This route is scenic and provides a good view of the surrounding nature.
