Public Transit
From Reading, head to the Reading Bus Terminal located at 8th and Penn Streets. Take the BARTA Route 1 bus towards the Lancaster area. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the Lancaster City Center. Once there, transfer to the Route 16 bus towards the Amish Farm and House. The bus will drop you off at the nearest stop, and from there, it is a short walk to the Amish Farm and House located at 2395 Covered Bridge Dr.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Reading. Start at the Reading Public Library on 5th Street and head south towards the Schuylkill River Trail. Follow the trail west towards Lancaster, which is about a 12-mile ride. Follow the trail signs towards the Lancaster area, and once you reach Covered Bridge Drive, follow it until you arrive at the Amish Farm and House. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling rules.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk, start from the center of Reading at the Reading Public Library. Head south on 5th Street until you reach Penn Street, then turn left. Continue walking along Penn Street until you reach the intersection with 8th Street and then continue to the outskirts of Reading. It's a long walk of about 12 miles, so be prepared with water and comfortable shoes. Follow the signs towards Lancaster and once you reach Covered Bridge Drive, walk until you arrive at the Amish Farm and House.
