Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Reading, head to the Reading Bus Terminal located at 5th and Franklin Streets. Take the BARTA bus route 90 towards Birdsboro. Make sure to check the schedule for the latest departure times. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 'Daniel Boone Homestead' stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the historic site. Head east on Daniel Boone Road until you reach the entrance at 400 Daniel Boone Rd.

• Bicycle

  If you're in Reading and prefer to bike, head towards the Schuylkill River Trail. This will lead you out of the city and onto a scenic route. Follow the trail north until you reach Birdsboro. Once in Birdsboro, turn left onto Main Street and continue straight. Main Street will take you directly to Daniel Boone Rd. Turn right onto Daniel Boone Rd, and the homestead will be on your left at 400 Daniel Boone Rd. The total distance is about 10 miles, so make sure to allow enough time for your ride.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy a long walk, start by heading east from downtown Reading towards the Schuylkill River. Follow the river north until you reach Birdsboro. This walk will take you along scenic paths and through some of the local neighborhoods. Once you reach Birdsboro, navigate to Main Street and follow it until you reach Daniel Boone Rd. Turn right on Daniel Boone Rd, and continue walking until you arrive at the Daniel Boone Homestead at 400 Daniel Boone Rd. This is a long walk of approximately 10 miles, so it's advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
