Bus
From Scranton, take the #1 or #2 bus from the Scranton Transit Center located at 1230 Wyoming Ave. Both buses head towards the nearby areas of North Abington Township. You will want to get off at the stop closest to the intersection of North Abington Road and Old State Road. This bus ride typically takes about 30-40 minutes. After disembarking, walk north on North Abington Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance of Lackawanna State Park at 1839 N Abington Rd.
Bike
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Scranton. Start at the Scranton Cultural Center at 420 N Washington Ave and head north on Washington Ave. Continue onto E Market St, then take a left onto N Abington Rd. Follow N Abington Rd north for approximately 4 miles until you reach Lackawanna State Park at 1839 N Abington Rd. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations.
Walking
For those feeling adventurous and fit, you can walk to Lackawanna State Park. Start from the Scranton Public Library at 500 Vine St. Walk north on N Washington Ave, then turn left onto E Market St. After about half a mile, turn right onto N Abington Rd. Continue walking on N Abington Rd for about 4 miles. This walk will take you through residential areas and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Keep an eye out for pedestrian paths along the way.
