Getting There

From the main square in Cajamarca (Plaza de Armas), head southwest on Av. Del Ejército. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto Av. Los Incas. Follow this road for approximately 3 km. You will come to a fork in the road; take the left fork which leads towards the mountain. After about 1 km, you will see signs directing you to Cerro Carambayoc. The road may become narrower, so drive carefully. Parking is available near the base of the hill, and from there, a short hike will lead you to the top.

From the Plaza de Armas, walk to the nearby bus station (Estación de Buses). Look for buses or shared vans heading towards La Encañada or Huamachuco. The fare is typically around 5-10 soles. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Cerro Carambayoc stop. After about 30-40 minutes, the bus will drop you off near the base of the hill. From there, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the hiking trail that leads to the summit.
