Car
If you are traveling by car from the Choquequirao Trek area, first make your way to the town of Curahuasi. From Curahuasi, follow the signs to Abancay on the main highway (Route 3). Continue on this route until you reach the junction for Route 1 that leads to Lima. Follow Route 1 for approximately 12 hours, passing through the beautiful Andean landscapes. Once you arrive in Lima, head towards the Wanchaq district where Agua Dulce is located. You can use GPS coordinates (-13.5338, -71.9584) to navigate directly to Agua Dulce, which is known for its scenic views and as a tourist attraction.
Public Transportation
To reach Agua Dulce using public transportation, first travel from Choquequirao to the nearest town with bus services, usually Curahuasi. From Curahuasi, catch a bus to Abancay, which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once in Abancay, find a bus terminal that offers services to Lima. Buses to Lima can take around 12 to 14 hours, so ensure you are prepared for a long journey. Upon arriving in Lima, use a taxi or local transport to reach the Wanchaq district, specifically the coordinates F28R+FJH Agua Dulce. Be aware that bus fares can range from 30 to 100 soles depending on the service.
