Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town, which is San Pedro de Cachora. From there, take the road towards the Choquequirao trailhead. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach the trailhead, park your car and start your trek towards Choquequirao. After reaching Choquequirao, continue to the Mirador MachuPicol, which is approximately a 2-hour hike from the archaeological site. Follow the signs towards the viewpoint; the trail is well-marked.

Public Transportation
To reach Mirador MachuPicol using public transportation, take a bus from Cusco to San Pedro de Cachora. The bus ride usually takes around 4-5 hours, costing approximately 15-20 PEN (Peruvian Soles). Once you arrive in San Pedro de Cachora, you can hire a local guide or join a trekking group to reach the Choquequirao trailhead. From the trailhead, begin your trek towards Choquequirao, which takes about 1.5-2 days depending on your pace. After exploring Choquequirao, continue your hike to Mirador MachuPicol, which is about a 2-hour walk from the site.

If you are already on the Choquequirao Trek, from the archaeological site, begin your hike towards Mirador MachuPicol. The trail is steep, so make sure to carry enough water and snacks. It should take you around 2 hours to reach the viewpoint. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the Apurímac River and the surrounding mountains. Once you reach Mirador MachuPicol, take time to enjoy the breathtaking vista and capture some photographs. Make sure to plan your return trip to Choquequirao before sunset.
