Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Huaraz, which is the nearest city. Drive towards the town of Yungay via the Huaraz-Yungay road (approximately 40 km). From Yungay, take the road towards the Huascarán National Park entrance. After paying the entrance fee (usually around 30 PEN), follow the signs towards Lake 69. The drive to the trailhead at Cebollapampa takes about 1.5 hours. The final stretch will be a dirt road, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such conditions.

Public Transportation
From Huaraz, take a colectivo (shared taxi) or bus heading to Yungay. The fare ranges from 5 to 15 PEN, and the journey takes about one hour. Upon reaching Yungay, you'll find colectivos that go to the Huascarán National Park entrance. After paying the entrance fee (approximately 30 PEN), continue your journey towards Lake 69. You can ask the driver for the best drop-off point, which is usually near the Cebollapampa trailhead. The hike from Cebollapampa to Lake 69 takes about 3 to 4 hours.

Once at the Cebollapampa trailhead, start your hike following the well-marked trail. It's advisable to start early in the morning to avoid afternoon rain and to enjoy the views. The hike is approximately 7 km one way and goes through beautiful landscapes. Make sure to carry water, snacks, and sunscreen. The altitude can be challenging, so take your time and acclimatize if necessary.
