Getting There

• Public Bus

  If you are near the Miraflores area, head to the main avenue called Av. José Larco and find the bus stop for the Metropolitano bus system. Take the Metropolitano bus towards ‘Naranjal’ and disembark at the ‘Javier Prado’ station. From there, transfer to a local bus or taxi that takes you to the historic center of Lima, specifically to the Plaza Mayor (Main Square). The Main Square is located at Jr. Junín cdra. 1, Lima 15001. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Plaza Mayor for convenience.

• Metro

  Head to the nearest Metro station. If you are in Miraflores, the closest station is the ‘Pavitos’ station. Take the Metro Line 1 towards ‘Villa El Salvador’. Get off at the ‘Pueblo Libre’ station. From there, you can take a taxi or a local bus to the Plaza Mayor in the city center. The bus stop is directly outside the station, and you can ask locals for guidance to ensure you are on the correct route.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the historical district or nearby, you can simply walk to the Plaza Mayor. Look for signs directing you towards ‘Centro Histórico de Lima’. The Main Square is a prominent landmark and is surrounded by other historical buildings. Follow the signs until you reach Jr. Junín, where you will find the Plaza Mayor. The area is pedestrian-friendly, and you can enjoy the beautiful architecture along the way.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi. Ensure to use a reputable taxi service or a ride-hailing app like Uber. Simply input ‘Plaza Mayor’ or ‘Jr. Junín cdra. 1, Lima 15001’ as your destination. The taxi driver will know exactly where to take you, and the ride from most tourist areas in Lima should be relatively quick, depending on traffic.
