Walking
To reach Machu Picchu from the entrance of the archaeological park, exit the bus station at Aguas Calientes and walk towards the entrance of the Machu Picchu site. Follow the signs directing you to 'Machu Picchu' which will lead you up a steep, well-marked path. The walk is about 30 minutes and will involve some steep inclines, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Once you arrive at the entrance, present your ticket to gain access.
Bus
From Aguas Calientes, you can take a shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. Head to the bus station located next to the train tracks. Purchase your bus ticket at the booth before boarding. Buses leave frequently and the ride takes about 20 minutes up a winding road. The bus will drop you off right at the entrance to Machu Picchu. Make sure to keep your ticket handy for entry.
