Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards the city of Moche from Trujillo. Take the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) southbound for about 5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Moche. Once you reach the town of Moche, follow the local roads leading to the Valle de Moche. La Huaca del Sol is situated just outside the town and is well-marked. There is a parking area available near the site.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Trujillo, you can take a bus to Moche. Buses frequently leave from the main bus terminal in Trujillo, and the ride takes around 30-40 minutes. Look for buses labeled 'Moche' or ask at the terminal for directions. Once you arrive in Moche, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) to La Huaca del Sol, or take a local taxi for a short ride. The taxi fare should be around 5-10 soles.

• Walking

  If you prefer walking from the center of Moche to La Huaca del Sol, head towards the main square and look for Avenida Valle de Moche. Follow this avenue, which will take you directly to the archaeological site. The walk will take approximately 20-25 minutes, and you’ll enjoy local sights along the way.

• Taxi

  If you're in Moche, you can easily grab a taxi to La Huaca del Sol. Taxis are readily available, and it should take about 10 minutes to reach the site. Always confirm the fare before your trip; expect to pay around 5-10 soles.
