From Vilcabamba, head southeast on the main road (E35) toward the town of Loja. After approximately 15 kilometers, take the exit toward the road leading to the Vilcabamba Valley. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach a fork. Keep left and follow the signs toward 'Chinancocha.' After another 10 kilometers, you will arrive at a parking area near Laguna Chinancocha. Make sure to check your fuel levels, as there are limited services along the way.

To reach Laguna Chinancocha via public transport, take a bus from Vilcabamba to Loja. Buses depart frequently from the main terminal in Vilcabamba. The fare is approximately 5 soles. Once in Loja, transfer to a local minibus heading towards 'Chinancocha.' This minibus will drop you off at the closest point to the lake, which is about 2 kilometers away. You will need to walk this distance to reach the lake. Ensure you check the minibus schedules, as they may vary.
