Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol. Head northeast on the AH26 (also known as the Bohol Circumferential Road) towards the town of Candijay. The distance is approximately 40 kilometers and should take around 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you reach Candijay, look for the signage that directs you to Can-umantad Falls. You will take a right turn onto a smaller road leading to the falls. Continue driving for approximately 8 kilometers until you reach the Can-umantad Falls Parking Area. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, take a bus from the Tagbilaran City Bus Terminal to Candijay. Buses to Candijay are frequent and cost around PHP 50-70 per person. The journey takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Candijay, you can take a tricycle (a local motorcycle taxi) to the Can-umantad Falls Parking Area. The tricycle fare will be around PHP 100-150, depending on your negotiation skills.
Walking from Parking Area
Once you have parked your vehicle or arrived at the parking area via tricycle, you will need to walk approximately 15-20 minutes down a well-marked trail to reach Can-umantad Falls. The trail is relatively easy to navigate, but be prepared for some uneven terrain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially if you plan to spend time enjoying the falls.
