Car
If you're driving, start on the main highway, the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway (also known as the Halsema Highway), and head towards Banaue. From Baguio City, it takes about 6-7 hours. Once you reach Banaue, look for directional signs that point to Batad. Continue on the road until you reach the Batad junction, where you will need to park your car. Note that the road may not be accessible for large vehicles, so be prepared to leave your car and take a shorter hike.
Public Transportation
To reach Batad via public transport, take a bus from either Manila or Baguio City to Banaue. The bus ride from Baguio to Banaue usually takes around 6-7 hours. Once you arrive in Banaue, look for a local jeepney or tricycle that can take you to the Batad junction. The jeepney ride will take approximately 30 minutes. After the jeepney drops you off at the junction, you will need to hike for about 30-45 minutes to get to the Batad Rice Terraces. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the hike.
