Turn left onto the Monkayo-Mabini Road. Drive for about 11 kilometers, and then look for signages directing you to Awao Falls. The falls are located in Brgy. Awao, about 2 kilometers from the main road. You may need to park your vehicle at designated areas and walk the remaining distance to the falls. Ensure you have a map app active for the most accurate navigation.
Public Transportation
From Davao City, take a bus or van heading to Monkayo. The ride typically takes about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Monkayo, you can hire a local habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to take you to Awao Falls. The habal-habal ride will cost you around PHP 100 to PHP 150 per person, and it will take approximately 30 minutes to reach the falls. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand.
Walking
If you have parked your car at the designated area, you may need to walk about 2 kilometers to reach Awao Falls. Follow the signs and the path leading to the falls. The trail is generally well-marked, but wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for uneven terrain. It's advisable to bring water and snacks, as amenities are limited near the falls.
