Car
If you are driving, start from Tacloban City, which is the capital of Leyte. Head north on the Maharlika Highway (AH26), passing through the towns of Palo and Tolosa. Continue on the highway until you reach the junction for San Isidro. Take the left turn towards San Isidro and follow the road until you reach Laoang. Once in Laoang, look for signs directing you to Batag Island. Note that you will need to take a boat to reach the lighthouse, as it is located on Batag Island.
Public Transportation - Van/Bus
From Tacloban City, take a van or bus going to Laoang. The travel time is approximately 3-4 hours, and the fare is typically around PHP 200-300. Once you arrive in Laoang, hire a local tricycle or motorcycle (habal-habal) to take you to the port where you can catch a boat to Batag Island. The boat fare is around PHP 50-100, and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the island.

After arriving at the port in Laoang, look for local fishermen or boat operators who can take you to Batag Island. Make sure to negotiate the price and confirm the return time, as the boats may not run frequently. The trip to Batag Island will offer picturesque views of the sea and surrounding islands.
