Getting There

• Car

  If traveling by car, start from Manila and take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Drive towards the Batangas exit and continue on the road towards Batangas City. Once in Batangas City, head to the Batangas Pier. The drive typically takes about 2-3 hours depending on traffic. At Batangas Pier, park your car in one of the designated parking areas (fees apply, usually around PHP 50-100 per day). From the pier, take a ferry to the island of Maricaban, which is the closest access point to Dampalitan Island. The ferry ride takes around 1-2 hours.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Dampalitan Island using public transportation, start at the Manila Bus Terminal (such as Cubao or Pasay). Board a bus bound for Batangas City, which takes approximately 2-3 hours. Upon arriving at Batangas City, take a tricycle or jeepney to Batangas Pier. Once at the pier, purchase a ticket for a ferry to Maricaban Island. The ferry ride lasts about 1-2 hours. After reaching Maricaban, you can hire a local boat to take you to Dampalitan Island, which is about a 20-30 minute boat ride away, costing around PHP 500-800 depending on the boat and number of passengers.

• Combination of Transport

  For a more adventurous route, consider taking a bus to Batangas City, then a jeepney or tricycle to Bauang. From there, arrange for a private boat that can take you directly to Dampalitan Island. This route might involve more time and coordination but allows for a scenic journey. Make sure to negotiate the boat fare in advance, which may range from PHP 1,000-1,500 for a private boat.
