Car
If you are driving to Mt. Apo's Crater, start from Davao City. Take the Calinan Road and head towards Barangay Kapatagan. Follow the signs towards Mt. Apo Natural Park. Once you reach Barangay Kapatagan, you will need to park your vehicle at the designated parking area. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around PHP 50. After parking, you will need to register at the entry point of the park, which may require a minimal entrance fee.
Public Transportation
From Davao City, take a jeepney or bus heading to Calinan. You can catch these at the city bus terminal. The fare is approximately PHP 30. Upon reaching Calinan, transfer to a local transport (another jeepney or habal-habal) to take you to Barangay Kapatagan. This leg of the journey may cost around PHP 50. Once you arrive in Barangay Kapatagan, you will need to register at the entry point of the park and pay the entrance fee.
Hiking
After registering at the park entrance in Barangay Kapatagan, you will need to hike towards Mt. Apo's Crater. The trek to the crater can take several hours, depending on your pace and trail conditions. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks. It is advisable to hire a local guide for safety and to enhance your experience. Guide fees generally range from PHP 1,500 to PHP 2,500, depending on the group size.
