Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Cagayan de Oro City. Take the National Highway (Cagayan de Oro - Bukidnon Road) heading towards Bukidnon. Continue driving for about 2 hours (approximately 60 kilometers) until you reach the Sayre Highway in Bukidnon. Follow the signs for Bukidnon and look for the exit towards Sumilao. Once you arrive in Sumilao, navigate to the coordinates 8XFH+7XP (you can use your GPS or map application). The falls are located a short drive from the highway, and you may need to park your vehicle nearby and walk the remaining distance.
Public Transportation
To reach Alalum Falls using public transportation, board a bus from Cagayan de Oro City to Bukidnon. Buses leave from the Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro. The fare is approximately PHP 150-200 and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Bukidnon, you will need to take a jeepney or a local van to Sumilao. The fare for this leg of the journey is around PHP 20-30. Inform the driver that you are going to Alalum Falls, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. From there, you might have to walk a bit to reach the falls.
Motorbike Rental
For a more adventurous option, you can rent a motorbike in Cagayan de Oro City. Rental shops are available in the city, and the cost is usually around PHP 500 per day. Ride your motorbike towards Bukidnon via the National Highway, following the same route as outlined for car travel. This option gives you flexibility and allows you to explore the scenic views along the way. Once you reach Sumilao, use the coordinates 8XFH+7XP to navigate to Alalum Falls.
