Getting There

• Private Car

  If you're driving from Cagayan de Oro, take the Iligan-Cagayan de Oro Road (also known as the National Highway) and head towards Iligan City. Once you reach Iligan City, follow the signs to Maria Cristina Falls. Continue on the road until you reach the junction that leads to the highway towards the Limunsudan Falls area. This road is a bit rough, so make sure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved roads. Follow the signs and GPS to Limunsudan Falls, which is approximately 19 km from the city center of Iligan. Keep an eye out for local guides who may offer their services and park your car in designated areas.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From Cagayan de Oro, you can take a bus to Iligan City. Buses leave regularly from the Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro. The fare is around PHP 100-150 depending on the bus line. Once in Iligan City, you’ll need to transfer to a local jeepney or tricycle that goes to the Maria Cristina area. The fare for this leg is about PHP 20-30. Inform the driver that you are going to Limunsudan Falls, and they will drop you off at a point where you can start your trek to the falls. It is advisable to hire a local guide for the trek, and their fees typically range from PHP 500-1000 depending on the group size.

• Hiking (From Drop-off Point)

  Once you are dropped off by the jeepney or tricycle, you will need to hike approximately 3-4 kilometers to reach Limunsudan Falls. Follow the trails marked by locals or your guide. The hike can be steep and may take about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring enough water. The trail can be slippery, so proceed with caution. Be aware that local guides may charge an additional fee for their services, which is highly recommended for safety and navigation.
