Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Zamboanga City. Take the National Highway towards Pagadian City, which is approximately 5 hours away. Once you arrive in Pagadian City, continue on the National Highway and follow the signs for the direction of R9RM+X53, where Palpalan Peak is located. The last stretch may require navigating through local roads, so make sure to have a GPS or map app handy to guide you to the exact coordinates of 7.8424° N latitude and 123.3829° E longitude.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, head to the bus terminal in Zamboanga City and board a bus heading to Pagadian City. The bus ride will take around 5 to 6 hours. Upon arriving at the Pagadian City bus terminal, look for a local jeepney or tricycle that can take you to the vicinity of Palpalan Peak (R9RM+X53). It’s advisable to ask the driver to drop you off as close to the peak as possible. The jeepney fare is quite affordable, usually around PHP 20-30.
Hiking/Walking
After being dropped off near Palpalan Peak, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the peak itself. Be prepared for a hike as the terrain can be uneven. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and carry water and snacks, as there may not be facilities nearby. The distance from the drop-off point to the peak is roughly 1 kilometer, which should take about 20-30 minutes on foot.
