Getting There

• Car Rental

  If you're driving from Zamboanga City, head northwest on Governor Camins Ave toward J. P. Rizal St. Continue to follow the road as it becomes S. P. Paredes St. After about 5 kilometers, merge onto the North Zamboanga Highway (also known as the Zamboanga-Sibugay Road). Travel for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the town of Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay. From Ipil, take the Sibulao Brgy Road (follow the signs to Merloquet Falls) and drive for about 13 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the falls. Note that parking may incur a small fee of around PHP 20.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Merloquet Falls using public transportation, start at the Grand Terminal in Zamboanga City. Board a bus heading to Ipil (costing approximately PHP 100-150) and inform the driver that you're going to Sibulao. The bus ride will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Ipil, you can find a tricycle or motorcycle taxi to take you to Sibulao Brgy Road, which is about 13 kilometers from Ipil. The fare for the tricycle or motorcycle taxi should be around PHP 50-100. Once at the Sibulao Brgy Road, you may have to walk a short distance to the falls.

• Motorcycle Rental

  For those seeking a more adventurous route, renting a motorcycle in Zamboanga City is an option. After renting, head northwest on Governor Camins Ave toward J. P. Rizal St. Continue on the North Zamboanga Highway for about 60 kilometers to Ipil. From there, follow the Sibulao Brgy Road for about 13 kilometers. Be prepared for some rugged terrain as the road may not be well-paved in some areas. Ensure you have a valid driver's license and wear a helmet for safety.
