Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Szklarska Poręba. Take the National Route 3 (Droga Krajowa 3) south towards Jakuszyce. After approximately 4 km, turn right onto the road leading to the Karkonosze Mountains. Follow the signs for Ostra Mała, which is located near the border of Poland and the Czech Republic. The coordinates for Ostra Mała are approximately 50.8079° N, 15.8943° E. Make sure to park in designated areas as off-road parking is not allowed.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ostra Mała by public transportation, take a bus from Jelenia Góra to Szklarska Poręba. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once in Szklarska Poręba, you can either walk or take a local taxi to reach the Ostra Mała trailhead. Walking from the bus station to the trailhead takes about 1 hour (approximately 4 km). The cost of the bus ticket is around 10 PLN.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity and prefer walking, you can access Ostra Mała via the marked hiking trails. Starting from Szklarska Poręba, follow the blue trail that leads you through the forests and up the slopes of the Karkonosze Mountains. The hike is approximately 4 km and takes about 1.5 hours. Ensure you have appropriate footwear and water as the trails can be steep and rugged.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can also take a taxi from Szklarska Poręba to the Ostra Mała trailhead. The taxi ride typically costs around 30-50 PLN depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. This option is convenient if you are traveling in a group or have heavy luggage.
