By Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Szklarska Poręba or Karpacz, both of which have good road connections. From Szklarska Poręba, take Route 3 (Droga Krajowa 3) heading south. After approximately 7 km, turn right onto Road 387 towards Przesieka and continue for about 5 km. Follow the signs for Pancava Falls (Pancavský vodopád) and park at the designated parking area near the entrance of the trail. Note that parking may incur a small fee, usually around 5-10 CZK per hour. From the parking area, it is a 1.5 km hike to reach the falls.
Public Transportation
To reach Pancava Falls using public transportation, take a bus from Jelenia Góra to Szklarska Poręba. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Szklarska Poręba, you can catch a local bus to the village of Przesieka. This portion of the trip may cost around 40 CZK. From Przesieka, it is a 1.5 km hike to the falls. Make sure to check the local bus schedules in advance, as they can vary, especially in off-peak seasons.
Hiking
If you are already hiking in the Karkonosze Mountains, you can approach Pancava Falls from various hiking trails. The most popular route is from the nearby town of Špindlerův Mlýn. Start your hike at the main square and follow the marked trails towards the falls. This route is about 3-4 km and takes roughly 1-1.5 hours. The trail is well-marked, but be prepared for some elevation changes along the way. Ensure you have adequate hiking gear, water, and snacks for the journey.
