Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kraków. Take the DK7 road towards Zakopane. Continue on DK7 for approximately 70 km until you reach the town of Nowy Targ. From Nowy Targ, follow the signs for the DK49 road towards Czorsztyn. After about 20 km, you will reach a junction; turn left onto the road leading to Červený Kláštor. The Red Monastery is located at Pod lipami 20, 059 06 Červený Kláštor, Slovakia, and is approximately 8 km from the junction. There is free parking available near the monastery.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a train or bus from Kraków to Nowy Targ. Buses run frequently and take about 2 hours. Once in Nowy Targ, transfer to a local bus heading to Červený Kláštor. The bus ride takes around 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary. The monastery is a short walk from the bus stop upon arrival in Červený Kláštor. The total cost for this journey will usually be around 20-30 PLN for the train/bus and an additional 5-10 PLN for the local bus.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service from Kraków. This option is more expensive but convenient, taking about 1.5 hours to reach the Red Monastery. Expect to pay around 250-300 PLN for this service. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
